On March 2-3, 2012 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova will be held the V International Conference-Symposium ECOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY 2012 sponsored by the following organizations: Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO); Moldovan Research and Development Institution, MRDA; Chemical and Chemical Technology Faculty, Department of the Ecological and Industrial Chemistry and Scientific Center for Ecological and Applied Chemistry of the State University of Moldova; Institute of Chemistry; Moldovan Chemical Society; University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The ECOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY 2012 is dedicated to 60th Anniversary of Acad.Prof. Gheorghe DUCA, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

The ECOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY 2012 provided opportunities to exchange the latest ideas, to present and discuss recent results on the physical-chemical and biochemical aspects of processes, which take part in the ecosystem – soil, air and water, and promising approaches of sustainable development including engineering and modeling, as well as social and educational implications. The aim of the conference is to develop international cooperation, to encourage and facilitate the interdisciplinary communication among scientists, engineers, economists, teachers and professionals working on environmental issues and sustainable development in order to promote healthy style and conditions of life.

Ecological Chemistry started to develop in Moldova in 1985 when the First International Ecological Chemistry School was conducted. For almost 25 years this field is intensively expanding being one of the priorities for the sustainable development of the National Economy.

The ECOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY 2012 is part of a series of successful conferences organized up to present in 1995, 2002, 2005, 2008, and 2010 and supported by UNESCO, CRDF/MRDA, CEI, .ONRG as well as the local R&D organization such as the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Department of the Ecological and Industrial Chemistry, Scientific Center for Ecological and Applied Chemistry and Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the State University of Moldova

The ECOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY 2012 is an important international event, which attracted up to 300 experienced and young scientists and engineers from the Europe, NIS, U.S.A. and other countries.
